Pretty Good For Upper Level Seats

    May 2014

    Section 529, Row 9, Seat 6

Ticket prices for the Sox have been pretty cheap lately. So sitting on the lower level hasn't been much of a problem recently. But this game was against the Cubs, so I went with less expensive upper level seats. And to tell you the truth, I really, really liked them! The first few rows of the section can be obstructed by the railing, so I knew to stay away. Row 9 is a little higher than I wanted to go, but it was the best available. The walk up the stairs isn't difficult, but any higher and the steep stairs would have bothered me. The view is just fantastic. The whole field and scoreboard are right in front of you. Plus, being a little bit on the first base side means two things: head-on views of the left side of the infield (where most of the action happens), and perfect views of the fireworks (unfortunately there weren't any home runs this nite). We got lucky that no one was in seat 1-4. I wouldn't take that chance again, though. I'd shoot for aisle seats to make getting in and out easy. Overall, these seats are perfect for families going to a fireworks game or the engaged fan who can't afford lower level seats. I will definitely sit here again if the lower level is out of my price range!

Upper Deck With a Good View

    May 2018

    Section 529, Row 9, Seat 18

Not the most spectacular seats in the ballpark but also not bad by any means. Good view from behind home plate. Being slightly in the first base side means you really get a good look at balls to the left side of the infield and outfield. Some elderly people were taking it slow on the stairs so if that's a concern, I recommend rows 1-6 which are lower down (and there are fewer seats in those rows). Seats were covered the roof.

    • Upper Box Seats

      -

Sections 520-544 make up the Upper Boxes at Guaranteed Rate Field. These seats offer elevated views of the field from behind home plate and near the infield. The 500 level seats have come under criticism for steep angles and nose-bleed heights. The stadium has undergone improvements to alleviate some of these issues, but seats above row 8 will have you wishing you spent a couple extra dollars and didn't have to walk up so many stairs. Never-the-less, seats in sections 522-524 are among the best in the ballpark on firework nights. These seats have a head-on view of the fireworks and you won't have to strain your neck to see them. The first few rows in the Upper Level are sometimes called Premium Upper Boxes, though they have no special benefits or privileges. Recommendations  Choose seats in the first five rows for the best views and shortest walks Sit in the upper rows to be under the stadium roof Sections on the first-base side will be shaded first

Better-than-expected views from behind home plate. Easily the best views from the upper level. Excellent views of the scoreboards, fireworks and all parts of the field
