Good view close to the field

    May 2014

    Section 110, Row 5, Seat 4

This was my third straight day visiting the ballpark. The first two days I sat in the 200 level and then right behind home plate. I think I liked these seats the best. It was 95 degrees, and I got one helluva sunburn to prove it. There's no escaping the sun here during day games and even during the beginning of night games. So if you're sensitive to the sun, stay far, far away! The view is pretty good -- just past first base into right field. Row 5 is the fifth row of seating in the section, though there a couple rows of field boxes right in front of you as well. I'll admit that I was severely jealous when they kept bringing down cold drinks and ice cream to the field seats. These seats don't enjoy the same benefits, but the view is just as good. You are really close to the field, and it's obvious pre-game. Most kids nearby got a ball before game from the visiting White Sox players, and autographs were frequent. And during the game, foul balls were pretty close and came in fast. Of course, being close to the field meant a mile walk up the stairs to Row 8 and the concourse. Fortunately the men's bathroom is literally the first entry up the stairs. Plenty of different beer options around, but food options are really boring. If I were ranking just seats in the Coliseum, these would probably rate higher. But compared to other ballparks, they're just slightly above average. I'd sit here again, but I won't make the mistake of forgetting the sun block.

    • Field Level

      -

The closest non-premium seating area for A's games are Field Level seats. On the RingCentral Coliseum seating chart, these are sections 103-130. Each Field Level section contains up to 38 rows with row 1 closest to the field. These sections are separated into an upper and lower portion with rows 1-20 in the lower area. These closer seats are occasionally labeled MVP Infield and MVP Prime. Rows 30 and above are underneath the overhang. On a sunny day, seats in these rows behind home plate are the best tickets for shade at an A's game. Infield Seats at Field Level  Due to the fact that seating flares out so widely at the Coliseum, sections 116-118 are the only Field Level seats that make you feel like you are on top of the action. It also comes as no surprise that these are typically among the most expensive seats at an A's game. Sections 119-122 are above the A's dugout, while 112-115 are above the visitor's dugout. Row 5 is the first row behind each dugout. Field Level Seats Away From Home Plate  The Coliseum is one of the few places where the farther down the line you go, the better the seats get. They are closer to the field and the bowl shape gives them an impressive angle towards home plate. Sections 106-108 and 126-128 would typically be havens for foul balls -- but this is not your typical stadium. You can still catch foul balls there, they're not as plentiful as you might expect. Target sections 126-129 for an up-close view of the A's bullpen and consider sections 105-108 for a look at the visitors when they warm up.

    • Recommended For Outstanding Convenience

      -

These seats were hand-selected for being close to a wide-range of amenities. They are within five rows of the concourse (fewer stairs) and there is a men’s restroom, women’s restroom and concessions near this section.
