Padres 2023 Tickets Guide

Updated 11/25/2024 / First Published 2/22/2023
2023 San Diego Padres Tickets

The Padres took a big step forward in 2022, winning ten more games than they did the year before. Unfortunately, they lost star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. to a PEDs suspension, and the season didn't end the way they hoped.

After adding Xander Bogaerts in free agency, San Diego feels that this is the year they can break through. The fans and bookmakers seem to agree. Padres tickets for 2023 are the 8th most popular baseball ticket on RateYourseats.com to start the year, and BetMGM has the Friars with the 5th-best World Series odds.

Where to Buy Padres Tickets

Season Tickets

Padres season tickets for the 2023 campaign are available through the team's box office.

A full-season membership includes tickets, ballpark discounts, special events and exclusive access to playoff tickets.

The team recently announced that they're capping memberships at 24,000 and will create a season-ticket waitlist once that number is reached.

Single-Game Tickets

Padres single-game tickets went on sale through the team's website on February 7th.

Padres tickets for the 2023 season are also available at RateYourSeats.com. Search, compare and buy tickets for every game using the PETCO Park interactive seat map.

Group Tickets and Packages

For fans who can't commit to a full-season ticket package, the Padres offer half and quarter-season memberships.

Each plan includes tickets for specific days of the week, including at least one premium day (Friday/Saturday/Sunday). As with full-season packages, these plans include special perks like member-only events and in-game discounts.

2023 Ticket Prices

In August the Padres announced a significant (18%) increase in the cost of renewing season tickets. After holding prices flat for more than a half-decade, this is the second consecutive year of box office price increases.

Ticket prices on the secondary market also rose at the end of the 2022 season. At one point in August, Padres tickets were the most expensive MLB ticket.

Get-in prices have softened at the beginning of 2023, but are expected to rise as the season approaches.

Cheap Padres Tickets

A few games on the Padres schedule are more affordable than others. This is usually dictated by the opponent and the day of week.

Early-season games against the D'backs, Reds and Royals are among the cheapest games all season. These matchups are all being held during the week.

Another option for cheap Padres tickets is to look at Wednesday afternoon games. There are eight of these at PETCO Park in 2023.

Key Series in 2023

All Padres fans are circling the two Dodgers series on the 2023 schedule - and for good reason. The Dodgers have 11 division titles since the Padres last won one.

Outside of battles in the N.L. West, the Padres will see more of the A.L. at PETCO Park. Starting June 6th, San Diego hosts three straight series with playoff teams from the American League.

Here are the hottest Padres matchups and tickets for 2023:

Rockies vs. Padres - Mar 30 - Apr 2

The Padres open up the 2023 season with winnable games against the Rockies. With division games at a premium this year, it's paramount the team gets off to a fast start against the N.L. West.

Opening Day ticket prices are easily the most expensive of the Padres home schedule.

Red Sox vs. Padres - May 19-21

Geographically, the Red Sox and Padres are about as far away from each other as two MLB teams can get.

So, while we don't expect a big rivalry between the teams to develop anytime soon, this year's series has an added storyline: Xander Bogaerts will be playing against the team he spent ten years with.

Mets vs. Padres - Jul 7-9

While this isn't a division series - or even one that late in the year - these games against the Mets could have some serious playoff implications.

Whether it's home-field advantage or Wild Card seeding, this series could have an impact on October.

Dodgers vs. Padres - Aug 4-7

This is an unusual series that starts on a Friday and ends on a Monday. Tickets for the weekend games will be much more expensive than the Monday afternoon contest.

Best Ticket Options at PETCO Park

Petco Park has no shortage of premium seating options, creating a lot of competition for the best tickets. Many fans would choose the single-digit Home Plate Club seats directly behind the home. However, those tickets can rarely be available for purchase on the secondary market.

A more common option for great tickets is the Premier Club in the lettered sections A-L.

The table below lists top ticket options with the lowest price for the rest of the season (as of Nov. 25, 2024) and a link to explore seats.

Cheaper Options

Fans who want cheap tickets should check out tickets in the 300-level. Seats here are higher up and further from the action, which leads to lower prices.

Tickets in Gallagher Square are also a good option for fans looking to get in the park. This is a general admission area with limited views of the field.

2023 Changes at PETCO Park

Most fans will not see much change at Petco Park for the 2023 season. The most significant changes are coming to the premium Home Plate Club. Updates make the club feel more elegant with aesthetic and amenity upgrades.

Best 2023 Padres Giveaways & Promos

The Padres have one of the most generous giveaway programs in Major League Baseball. Hats, shirts, bobbleheads and more will be given away at 19 of 81 games at PETCO Park in 2023.

Most giveaways are first-come, first-serve and are usually issued to the first 40,000 fans in attendance.
