Seat Ratings Mentioning Shade/Cover
"Baseball Fan's Dream!!" - ★★★★★
Section 135, Row 3, Seat 5
Not only are these seats impressively close to the field, but you also get a pretty amazing view while being right on top of the action!
One of the unique benefits here is that you get great elevation over the fans sitting in front of you in Row 2. For some reason, there is an extra bit of height between rows when sitting in rows 1-4 as opposed to being in rows 5 and higher, which is a great perk when you're already so low to the field.
Phenomenal straight ahead views of home plate, and incredibly close to the White Sox dugout as well as the home team on deck circle. On the rare occasion that I do get to sit this close, I tend to worry about the safety netting being a distraction and having less than ideal overall views to the entire field of play, but neither were issues from here. Also had great sight lines right into the visitor dugout if you're into that.
Probably the only downfall here is the mini-marathon needed to get to and from the concourse which is more than a 30 row walk! But once you finally make it up there, you're right by a delicious smelling churro stand, a Revolution Brewing cart with tasty beers, a Majestic team store, and believe it or not, both a women's and a men's room just steps away. Full/permanent concessions are available just a few sections down the third base line, so its no sweat if you want a bit more variety.
Overall, I can't say enough about these seats, and would absolutely recommend them for any baseball fan that wants a truly memorable experience at Guaranteed Rate Field!...More
"Avoid Right Aisle Seats in the First Two Rows" - ★★★
Section 544, Row 2, Seats 1-2
These seats are in the first section of the cheaper upper deck seats. They have a great view of the out-of-town scoreboard and the main scoreboard in CF. However, there are seats in this section and in other sections in the 500 level that should absolutely be avoided. The aisle seats nearest home plate (Seat 1 on the 3B side) in the first two rows have a view that is almost completely obstructed by the railing. This makes it near-impossible to see the entire batter-pitcher exchange without looking at some railings. In turn, this made it difficult to see hard-hit ground balls. All the seats in Row 3 and above are fine -- as are seats in the middle of the row -- but if you're choosing aisle seats, choose the ones away from home plate.
Despite the poor view, being on the aisle one step away from the tunnel makes getting to the concourse an absolute breeze. The restrooms were about three sections away -- so not perfect -- but there are an abundance of permanent and moveable concession stands, which is rare for an upper deck.
Even in April on a 40 degree day, I walked away with pretty severe sunburn for a 1:00 game. There's no chance at shade for an afternoon game in these seats so bring the sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, nine umbrellas and a tarp.
Vendors hawking beer, soft drinks, candy, hot dogs and popcorn were aplenty -- so even if you're seated in a higher row, the concessions will come to you....More
"Great Seats for Families and Fireworks" - ★★★★
Section 110, Row 31, Seat 23
Despite being far down the line and in one of the last rows in Section 110, these seats are actually excellent. Being close to the last row makes it easy to get to concessions and restrooms, while being far down the line gives you a great view of the outfield and of the fireworks if you're on the first-base line.
Being on the left aisle of Section 110 gives a great view of the action at home plate. You're not right on top of the field so the players aren't super-close, but you can easily follow all of the action.
The best part about these particular seats is that they're covered. Covered seating at U.S. Cellular Field usually means upper deck, but these seats were perfectly under the 300 level and were protected from the rain (which it did). Sun was also never an issue and we were probably 15 degrees cooler than seats that weren't covered or shaded.
Overall, for not being very close to the field or in the club level, these seats were awesome! ...More
"Aisle Seats in the Shade by 3pm" - ★★★★
Section 120, Row 13, Seats 1,2
These tickets were purchased for a 3:00 game on a smoldering hot day in early June. Seats on the first base line are entirely shaded for nite games, but the same can't be said for day games. We showed up at about 2:15 and sections 20 and higher were in the shade. Every five minutes or so, the next low row would be in the shade. This particular row (13) was entirely in the shade by 3:00.
Food options nearby rival the best stadium food in any sporting venue. Polish sausages, loaded baked potatoes, mexican food, pizza, plenty of deserts - you name it - it's all close to this section.
You are very close to the field (and close to field level from a height perspective) in these seats. The only complaint is the angle towards home plate. You do have to contort your body to the left to see home plate. Seats 1 and 2 are on the aisle away from home plate (close to section 121 than 119).
Beware of foul balls in this section too....More
"Sunny Club Seats" - ★★★
Section 356, Row 3
I've been eyeing this section for a while. These are club seats with access to the club lounge and in-seat wait service. But this section and the one next to it are always priced a lot cheaper than other club sections. I liked that and the fact that the view is straight towards home plate (as opposed to turning your head).
Overall, the view was comfortable, and the foul pole was not in the way at all (this was my primary concern). It still was pretty far from home plate so seeing balls and strikes was a bit difficult. But for the price and the service, that's a concession you'll have to live with.
This was a 65 degree overcast day to start but the clouds broke in about the 5th inning. And I have a nice farmer's tan to prove it! These are the sunniest club seats in the stadium and will be the last to get shade. I wouldn't sit here again for a day game, but certainly would consider for a night game....More
"Perfect View and Perfect Amenities" - ★★★★★
Guaranteed Rate Club, Row B3, Seats 5-6
First time in the Home Plate Club. I've literally sat in every other section for a White Sox game, including everywhere on the club level and multiple times in the Scout Seats. It's a tough call between the Scout Seats and here.
In both areas you get all-inclusive food and drink. I think the spread in the Scout Seats is bigger, but I liked the quality of food better here. Buffet stays open til 830pm and you can continue to order food and drink at your seat until the 8th inning. Desert begins once the buffet is taken away.
My two favorite things vs. the Scout Seats is that the seats are much closer to bathrooms and the elevated view makes it easier to follow the game.
The seats are fully covered which is great on a hot day but it is tough to see some fly balls and tough to see the fireworks from here....More
"Excellent and Convenient!" - ★★★★★
Section 141, Row 27
Lots to like here. Took a family of four for an afternoon game.
This section is close to the main entrance on this side (ideal if you're taking the red line). This row was only about ten steps down from the concourse, so it's easy to get food and get to restrooms. I also chose this side since it's not too too far from the Kids Fundamentals Deck.
View was excellent to home plate and the outfield. And being on the White Sox side is a bonus.
One important factor is the sun. This was a sunny 70 degree day. For a 1pm game in mid-May, they were completely in the sun. This was actually preferred because the shade was 10-15 degrees cooler. The same seats on the visitor side were shaded for a majority of the game, and would be a cooler and less sun-drenched experience....More
"Some of the best seats in the stadium!" - ★★★★★
Section 136, Row 18, Seats 1-2
Between the Sox dugout and home plate, on the aisle and halfway between the field and the concourse. What more could you ask for!?
Seat 1 is on the right aisle, closer to home plate. If you look straight ahead, you're staring right down the first base line. If you like watching the first or second baseman, these seats are ideal. The entire outfield is in perfect view as well.
Delicious flautas were a couple sections away and beer, water, popcorn and peanut vendors were abundant.
Being on the aisle is a bonus, though there are less than 12 seats per row.
Seats are not in the shade at all during a 1:00 game, but do get relief around 430 for late afternoon and evening games.
Overall, easily some of the best seats at U.S. Cellular Field!...More
"Good view of everything" - ★★★★
Section 534, Row 3, Seats 9-10
These are some of the best 500 level seats at U.S. Cellular Field. The first eight or so rows in this section only have ten seats so these seats (9 and 10) are on the aisle. Being on the aisle and only three rows up from the concourse, you are able to go down and grab snacks between innings without missing a beat.
The first few rows in this section may have an issue with the railing -- it was a slight disruption for our view. Other than that, you have a very good view of the entire field, the scoreboard, the out-of-town scoreboard and the fireworks if it is fireworks nite. The legroom in these seats was also above average.
Food is not as good as the 100 level, but it is close and the lines are manageable. ...More
"Good Spot - Just Wish We Could Have Spent More Time in Them" - ★★★★
Section 318, Row 2, Seats 6-7
There were some big storms heading into Chicago for this date, so I knew I had a choice. I could purchase covered seats in the lower level or un-covered club seats. I went with the club seats because we had a small child with us, and we would be comfortable inside if there was a rain delay.
We watched two innings from these seats - nice view of the field and the fireworks. And we ducked inside just before the rain started. The game continued despite a downpour, and we watched from a couch in the club lounge just outside our section. Unfortunately it never stopped raining so we never got to return to our seats. But with a young child, it was the right call having the indoor lounge as a refuge....More
"Sunny Club Seats!" - ★★★★
Section 356, Row 2, Seat 17
I took my 4-month-old son to his first game in these seats. I didn't want to be anywhere near foul balls or home run balls - and didn't want to deal with the stairs of the upper deck. This is one of the few club sections safely out of hitting territory.
There were a ton of kids on the club level this day. It really is a nice benefit to be able to escape to the concourse to get relief from the sun. It's also nice to have un-crowded restrooms on this level and to have in-seat wait service.
The only downside (for someone with a kid) was how sunny these were. Make sure to bring the sunblock - even on a cool day!...More
"Good Shade on a Hot Day" - ★★★
Section 536, Row 14, Seat 1
Used the RateYourSeats shade finder to find covered seats on a hot day. Row 14 was perfectly cool for a 1pm game in late July. Two rows in front of me is much more exposed.
Of course, in terms of actually getting to row 14, you're going to pay the price a little bit. The stairs can be burdensome if you're going up and down a lot.
The view isn't so bad. You're behind home plate and can see the entire field with ease. You're just pretty far away. But for $15 on a beautiful day, it's worth it....More
"Doesn't Get Any Better" - ★★★★★
Guaranteed Rate Club, Row D
Arrived right at 5:40 when gates open, took the elevator up and was working the buffet by 5:45. Sat in the dining room and had a nice dinner before the game.
Continued eating and drinking in the seats all night. So nice to know that everything is all-inclusive.
Really comfortable spot for watching the game. And a number of foul balls were so close to ending up in the Club. This was my second time sitting here, and I'll be back again!...More
"Upper Deck With a Good View" - ★★★★
Section 529, Row 9, Seat 18
Not the most spectacular seats in the ballpark but also not bad by any means.
Good view from behind home plate. Being slightly in the first base side means you really get a good look at balls to the left side of the infield and outfield.
Some elderly people were taking it slow on the stairs so if that's a concern, I recommend rows 1-6 which are lower down (and there are fewer seats in those rows).
Seats were covered the roof....More
"Just About Perfect" - ★★★★★
Section 125, Row 26, Seat 10
A whole list of things to like about these seats:
- Excellent, elevated view
- The net isn't really too bothersome
- Looks right at the pitcher, third baseman and shortstop
- Just a few steps up to the concourse
- For the five seconds it was sunny, these were shaded
It did rain before the game and the seats were wet, so they won't be covered. Rows 29 and higher were dry.
Will definitely be sitting here again!...More
"Excellent Seats Near the White Sox Dugout" - ★★★★
Section 141, Row 11
Less than 10 rows from the Sox dugout - right in line with third base. Awesome for seeing everything that's happening on the infield. I also really like being directly head-on to the out-of-town scoreboard with additional info and stats.
Only downside was the heat. Ended up moving to a shaded sport when the game went into extra innings. These seats aren't anywhere near shaded all afternoon....More
"Perfect seats for all!" - ★★★★★
Section 136, Row 18, Seats 1-2
These were great seats behind sox on deck circle. Great view slightly to left of home plate. Aisle made seats easy to get in and out of. Also good seats to catch a ball or tshirt. We had a couple foul balls near us and almost caught a tshirt from top of sox dugout. Perfect for family, impressing client, or just to have a good time at ballpark. We were in the shade by 430....More
"Comfortable Spot, Decent View" - ★★★★
Section 117, Row 37
Last row in the section. Completely covered by the overhang and totally shaded for a 1pm game. There was even a bit of a breeze back here blowing from the concourse.
For being the last row, the view wasn't that bad. The seats are slightly angled towards the infield unlike some other areas of the ballpark....More
"Shade by 3pm" - ★★★★★
Section 120, Row 13, Seats 1-2
Great seats behind the visitor dugout. Shade by 3pm, which was a real blessing on this scorcher of a day @ 86 degrees. Very tasty shaved ice stand at top of section helped us keep cool, too. Restrooms were close and ramp for exit was right there, too. Would definitely return to this section....More
"Surprisingly Decent" - ★★★
Section 556, Row 3, Seat 8
Sure, they're pretty far from home plate, but it's a pretty comfortable spot. You can see the whole field without straining your neck.
Concessions are a little thin this far down the line, but the Fundamentals Deck is nearby which is a plus if you have kids....More
"Shaded Relief" - ★★★
Section 111, Row 34
Moved to these seats after the game went into extra innings and it was too hot to remain in our seats on the other side of the field.
Obviously, the shade was fantastic. View isn't that great. Wasn't anyone within 10 rows which made it easy to spread out....More
"One of the best views in the stadium!" - ★★★★★
diamond_suite, Seat 16
The diamond suites are great to entertain clients. Easy to get to, excellent service, ample room in the suite, food was great. View was right over home plate, you are able to see the entire field. Also, directly across from the elevators...More

-Super convenient to restrooms and concessions
-Seat 13 is on the left aisle

-Made it on the jumbotron
Just wish more foul balls came back to us!...More
"Excellent Spot on Sox Side!" - ★★★★★
Section 139, Row 31, Seat 5
- About 25 rows up from the Sox dugout
- Just below the Antique taco stand
- Under the overhang (was sunny for a couple innings though)
- Between home plate and third base
- Just a few steps up to the concourse

"Great view!" - ★★★★
Section 534, Row 3, Seats 9-10
These seats were at the front of the upper deck behind home plate. They had a great view of the entire game. They also have a great view of the fireworks. ...More
"Great view, shade, but lacking crowd" - ★★★★
Section 111, Row 31, Seats 1‐4
The seats had a nice view and in a 90 degree game like today you need the shade. Unfortunately, most fans were quiet and there were a lot of open seats....More
"Expensive Seats Kinda Far Back" - ★★★★
Section 121, Row WCH, Seat 3
Seats are in the wheelchair row and are set back kind of far from the action. Nicely shaded, though and awesome access to concessions and restrooms....More
