    Lackluster views but great food

    Apr 2014

    Basketball Review
    Section 401, Row 10, Seat 3

Don't expect great views of the court from Section 401. Aside from the long distance down to the floor, the basket blocks out the middle of the lane and you can't see anything at the top of the key. If you're sitting back in the seats and the fans just in front at row 9 are leaning forward at all, it will also be difficult the see anything along the near baseline. One saving grace is the great viewing position to the large videoboard that faces directly at the seats. But the best part about sitting here is the great food located just behind the seats. At Row 10 it was a short 4 row walk to get to the concourse, which had a lot of great options to choose from as well as good restroom access. Some of the more notable items on the menus nearby included kimchi burritos, spicy korean beef tacos, and multiple different nacho options.

Better than having to walk down to first row

    Basketball Review
    Section 401, Row 10, Seat 3

The view from behind the basket is not so great. The view of the other end of the court is pretty good (the Rockets shoot there in the 3rd and 4th quarters), but the view of the near basket is really obstructed by the hoop. The entrance to the section is in the top row, so you only have to walk down about 7 or 8 rows to your seats. The walk down to the front row would be much worse. Two sections away there is a very diverse stand of food: tacos, asian, stadium food and a creamery. I had the korean bbq and they took at least ten minutes to come out. But they were worth the wait! Water was more expensive than a Red Bull, which should be a crime.

    • 400 Level Baseline (Basketball)

      -

Most Baseline seating in the Upper Level is made up of 16 rows (exceptions in handicap accessible rows) with the first row being Row 1. Row 14 in Sections 401 and 418 are wheelchair accessible with seating available at the top of these sections.  Upper Level Baseline seats are among the furthest away from the court, but are also among the least expensive seats in Toyota Center. The front rows in these baseline sections are just above the last rows in 100 level seating and are lower to the court than the first rows in 400 level sideline seats - making them a good value for fans on a budget. Just beware that sitting in the front row does lead to long walks up and down the stairs each time you want to reach the concourse.

    • "Not well lit, and steep stairs on the aisle"

      (Section 432) - -

The view from these seats is better than other sections directly behind the backboard, however its still high up and in the corner of the Toyota Center. Don't expect much when it comes to legroom up here and sadly there are no cup holders either. Over anything else I noticed how dark it is up in...

    • "Leaning Forward Most of the Game"

      (Section 403) - -

It was great sitting in the front row with no other fans in front to block the view, however the glass safety railing left me leaning forward to get a clear view. When sitting back normally in the seat you can still see through the glass and to the court, but found it to be very distracting and onl...
