Seat Ratings Mentioning Shade/Cover
"Great View-limited access" - ★★★
Section 6, Row 76, Seat 22
"Endzone seats in front of the only video screen" - ★
Section 12, Row 62, Seat 14
My first time in the Rose Bowl and I learned a few things.
The North tunnel, Section 12 is an endzone seat but it is directly in front of the only video board. Could only watch replays if you turned completely around.
This section was in the shade by about halftime of the 2pm game. The seats in front of the press box and suites were shaded most of the game.
If it weren't for the "historical significance" of the Rose Bowl game, the stadium would be demolished. No pro team would succeed in these outdated facilities....More

"Don't watch the game, experience it." - ★★★★★
Section 9, Row M, Seat 107
Section 9 Row M is the second row from the field. Row N is technically the first row, but we had no one sitting in N, so we moved down to N. You can smell the grass, talk to the players, and feel the game experience. Will you know for certain whether the team got a first down or what is happening at other endzone? Not without the jumbotron behind you, but these seats aren't for that. Leave that for the HD TV at home. These seats are the best in the stadium to experience the game and feel the action in your bones. ...More
"More than decent vantage for football" - ★★★★
Section 2, Row 43, Seats 17,18
Not too high--not too low. Seat backs. These seats line up with the end line of the visiting team's (Stanford, in my case) end zone--east side (near southeast corner), so you bask in the sun until sunset. Didn't use restrooms or concessions, so I can't comment on those. The "home team" (Michigan State) was concentrated on the opposite west side, but there was plenty of green and white in Section 2! Gracious, classy Cardinal fans (mainly. . .lol)....More
"Good enough but seats up close would’ve been much nicer" - ★★★
Section 7, Row 54, Seat 114 (Concert)
Pros:
- has seat backs
- able to get a good view of the entire stage
- nothing is obstructing your view ie lighting equipment, poles, speakers...
Cons:
- too far from the stage
- you can barely see the artists’ faces
Overall, it doesn’t really matter where you sit as long as you enjoy the show!

"Awesome view - but loud" - ★★★★★
Section 103, Row B, Seats 3-4
The locations was awesome, the food good, limited selection, the staff were excellent and service excellent. The only problem with the D section club seats is that seats in section 103-108 are right under the loud speakers for the stadium and sometimes way too loud. The crowd was fun, lots of spirit....More
"Bird's eye view" - ★★★★★
E Level Suites Center, Row A, Seats 12-14
Second level in seats, on 20 yd line. Unobstructed as 1st row. Sun sets behind you so not on your eyes. Food just so-so. Tight leg space. All other guests need to stand up to let guests in same row pass. Would sit there again....More
"Great seats, awesome view!" - ★★★★★
Section 2, Row 48, Seats 109-112
Had a great time at the game. Seats were great (10 yard line), not too high, perfect view of the entire field. Close to tunnel, restrooms, and concessions. ...More
"Narrow spots" - ★★★★
Section 22, Row 75, Seats 15, 16
Numbers on seats were for people half my size. We were really jammed together trying to sit on our assigned seats. Very uncomfortable. ...More

Section 7, Row 36, Seat 101

The difficulty of climbing over people to go to the restroom or concessions, and then navigating 46 rows of stairs, made us decide in advance to not move once the game started. After the game, it took a long time for the crowd to get out in front of is as well. Since the seats were stadium seats, we could not walk down them as if they were bleachers, so we had to wait a while to get out. ...More
