Billy Joel. So close to the action. Brilliant view of band and crowd.

    Concert Review
    Section 111, Row 11, Seats 15-18

    ★★★★★

I was hesitant about buying seats behind the stage, but these seats were excellent. We travelled from Australia to see Billy at MSG and we were not disappointed! The stage is quite open at the back so we could easily see the band members and Billy really well. Billy's piano rotates every song and as these seats are off to the side a little we could see his face often. The band members at the back often turned around to include us in the action too. There are definitely a few times when the action faces forward, particularly a couple of songs when Billy played guitar. Also, we couldn't really see any screens from our seats, but as we were so close that didn't matter. Overall, I felt we were much closer to the action in these seats than the equivalent priced seats in the stands behind the floor. I do think being a few rows back, so higher up, was a good choice. The seats in this section right near the front would I think have a more impeded view of the stage.

The seats were tighter than size 5 shoes on a size 8 foot and the man sitting next to me clearly had no idea that he should have his coat cleaned.

    • 100 Level Baseline (Basketball)

      -

Despite having a view behind the basket, these seats have more height to them than the Floor seats. This makes it easier to see over the people in front of you and gives you a better view of the entire court. Each section has 15 rows of seating labeled 6-20, with the entrance to the concourse located at the top of each section.

    • 100 Level Goal (Hockey)

      -

Each 100 level end section contains 15 rows of seating with Row 6 being first and Row 20 being last. Sections 111-113 are very popular among Rangers fans because they are behind the net where the Rangers attack in the first and third periods. Generally speaking, you will be looking through the glass to see the action inside the nearest blue line and above the glass to see the rest of the ice. Unlike most seating on the lower level, these are not club seats, which makes them the cheapest option for Rangers tickets on the lower level. Some fans will complain that the other end of the ice is too far away, while others will celebrate being the first to know when a goal is scored on their end of the ice.

    • Behind the Stage

      -

For some shows at Madison Square Garden, seats will be sold behind the stage. These seats will have a view to the stage, but fans purchasing these tickets should understand there will likely be some obstructions to seeing the show.  Fans purchasing tickets behind the stage should be aware of the following:  Content or visuals projected on screens may be out of view Portions of the stage may be obstructed by lighting or equipment The performance will face the other direction Majority of the show will be looking at the performer's back   Difference by Level The views from behind the stage differ greatly by level at Madison Square Garden. Those seated in the 100 level, 200 level, and Madison Club will have the clearest views of the stage. The window out to the stage in the 400 level is greatly restricted by the height of the level and overhang above. It is the least desirable location behind the stage for this reason. The 300 level balcony seats have clearer views, but views are steep to the stage due to the height. Fans with a fear of heights might want to stay away.
