Florida State Sideline & Visitor Sideline
Florida State Sideline - The Florida State sideline is in front of Section 32, Section 33 and Section 34
Visitor Sideline - The visiting team sideline is in front of Section 9, Section 10 and Section 11
When purchasing tickets for Florida State football, seating choices are fairly straightforward. The decisions that have to be made are:
Club Seats
The primary advantages of club seats are indoor lounge access and chairback seating. Fans pay top dollar for a comfortable experience, despite the mediocre view from the endzone.
Better Views Along the Sideline
To get the best views at Doak Campbell Stadium, you'll want to combine a sideline view with the perfect elevation. Our favorite seats in sections 7-13 and 29-36 are rows 30-50. These are just below the upper section tunnel and have comfortable views of the action.

Less than 10% of seats at Doak Campbell Stadium offer some type of shade or cover. Below is a sample of seats that are at least partially covered or shaded at different times of the day. While corner seats at many football stadiums offer quality views and a decent gameday experience, the corner sections at Doak Campbell Stadium are mostly forgettable. Most of these sections offer poor access to the concourse tunnels (you'll be walking a lot of steps), bad angles towards midfield and can be blinded by the sun.
Along the sidelines, tunnels are predictably placed near rows 10 and 50. This makes it fairly easy to choose seats with a short walk to the concourse. But in some corner sections, there is no upper tunnel, which may result in having to walk extra stairs or hopping over people into the next section.
If you don't mind the extra steps, you'll still have to deal with sitelines that aren't set towards the 50 yardline. This makes it all the more critical that you choose a higher number row so you'll have a wide view of the field.
Finally, these corner sections are wholly exposed to the sun and the rest of the elements. You won't want to forget your hat or shades.
Obviously, the main draw of corner seating is the low ticket prices. In some instances, you can find very good bang for your buck. If these tickets match your budget, aim for seats in Sections 27 and 28 near Row 50. You'll be on the Florida State sideline, the sun will set behind you in the late afternoon, and you'll be close to the primary endzone walkway.
Behind the endzones on the lowest level of seating is the Lower Level Endzone seating location. Seats in this location are all within 40 rows of the field have a great view to watch plays around the near endzone. The opposite side of the field is far away and can be hard to see - but that is completely normal for endzone seating.
Seats in the SE endzone will have the best views of the main videoboard, while NW endzone sections will be below the videboard and adjacent to FSU student seating.
Sit as close to the top of each section as you can for the shortest distances to the endzone walkway and to have the best views of the other side of the field.
Sideline seating is formed by Sections 6-14 on the NE side of the stadium and Sections 29-37 on the opposite side of the field.
For fans in the lower number sections, they'll find themselves behind the visitor sideline on the sunny side of the field. In fact, the upper rows of Sections 4-14 just may be the sunniest seats in any college football venue in the country. Not surprisingly, many of these seats are reserved for students. The only place to escape is in rows 80-84 in sections 9-11. These seats are surprisingly covered by a shallow overhang and may be the best kept secret in the stadium.
The opposite side of the isn't exactly under an elm tree, either. The wide-open bowl of Doak Campbell Stadium provides little relief from the sun on either side of the stadium for noon kickoffs. No matter where you're seated, remember to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunblocks.
Now that you won't melt in the heat, you can focus on finding the best views of Seminole football. Along the sidelines, you'll want to focus on two things: having enough elevation to see the entire field and having a short walk to the section tunnel.
Tunnels are located near Rows 10 and 51, but many fans find that Row 10 is too close to the field and it's difficult to see end-to-end. Row 50, on the other hand, provides plenty of elevation and a superb wide-lens of the field. Go as low as row 35 to still get a great view and a short walk.
Prior to the renovations that installed club seating on the south end of the field, Doak Campbell Stadium was a rather bland college football venue. With the recent upgrades; however, Florida State fans now have another option when it comes to finding great seats.
Even with the renovations, the best views at a FSU football game come from the elevated rows of sections 8-12 and 31-35. Specifically, rows 35-50 in these sections are the cream of the crop.
Because the main seating bowl is so low to the ground, players on the sidelines can impact your view - even if you're sitting as high as row 25. Add to that a lot of crowding around the entrance tunnels at row 10 and you're best off buying tickets in a higher row to guarantee an unobstructed view. These upper rows (35-50) will also keep you close to another entrance tunnel where you can escape to the restroom or concessions.
While sections 8-12 and 31-35 offer identical views, seats on the west sideline (31-35) are the preferred choice. Not only is this the Florida State side of the field, but it's also the less-sunny side. The sun sets behind these sections and will be at your back instead of staring you down all afternoon.
By placing the new club seats above the endzone instead of along the sideline, Florida State chose comfort over sitelines. The club sections are best seats for staying cool, and they also offer the most comfortable view of the north videoboard.
While you won't find sitelines nearly as good as you would along the sideline, there are still some club sections that combine a comfortable experience with a very good view. Our favorite sections include 216, 217, 225, 226 and the 300s sections directly above. These sections are situated in the corner of the endzone - affording them a comfortable view towards midfield without any major obstruction from the goalposts. Views towards the other end of the field can get a bit long, but the north videoboard is nearly head-on and can help you keep track of what you missed.

Some of the best seats for a diverse crowd will be found in the South endzone. Sections 118-123, 220-225, and 323-326 are the best options as these seats are available in the lower pricing tiers, and are not reserved strictly for alumni donors, visiting team fans only, or students.
Photo Credit: aviewfrommyseat.comYou will want to avoid sections near the north endzone as many of these are reserved for FSU students only (Sections 1-7, 40-41), and most of the sideline sections are populated by alumni donors who are also season ticket holders.
The visiting team ticket allotment is reserved in Sections 117, 217-219, and 317-321. These areas generally provide a good mix of Seminole and away fans, but they can also become tense at times.
