    Nice View, Seats a tight-squeeze

    Dec 2011

    Hockey Review
    Section 215, Row 4, Seats 1-5

What a great view of the ice and the game! Close to the aisle and exit to get in/out. The only negative is you can't see the right goal through the barrier gate at the end of the stairway very well. You can see the plays but if you were taking pictures, you wouldn't get any great shots. I would recommend seats that are towards the middle of the row rather than these end seats, although I don't know how that view would be since you will be directly behind the film crew and the video cameras. Seats were comfortable but not enough leg room. The cup holders are right there in the seat-back in front of you. When I got out of my seat and passed someone who didn't stand up as I was passing, I accidentally popped his drink out of the cup holder. Guess you can't do much about the seats but I feel for anyone who is tall. It's a tight squeeze, and anyone passing through requires you to stand up each time to let them pass (being on the aisle seat, this happens a lot). I would definitely sit in this section again despite these minor negatives.

    • Upper Level Center (Hockey)

      -

If you're looking for a center ice view at a Sharks game, but don't want to break the bank in the process, the Upper Level Center sections are your best options. Fans will enjoy clear views of both nets, with high seating that limits the amount of times you'll lose sight of the puck up against the boards.  Sections 214-216 are the best options here as they will also give you a head on view of the players and coaches on the bench. Sections here have up to 17 numbered rows of seating, with entry tunnels located at Row 2.

    • Upper Level Side (Concert)

      -

The side sections on the upper tier of the SAP Center are a great place to find cheap tickets for an end stage show, without having to surrender to a terrible view. Sections 216 and 228 are where you will want to be, as these keep you closer to the stage without a complete side angle view. And while they might seem closer to the action, it is difficult to recommend sitting in sections 217 or 227 due to the far from ideal viewing angles. But if you must, be sure to opt for the lower numbered seats of section 217, or the higher numbered seats of section 227.  Most sections on the upper level side have 17 numbered rows of seating, with entry tunnels located near the very front of the section.

      (Section 201) - -

Seats were okay, but wouldn't reserve in the 200's again. View was fine, but too high up. SAP Center is extremely steep and stairs are scary. There is not enough room to stand up and dance. Row is too long.
