The Lawn is the most common seating option at Ravinia. It is a great spot for a relaxing and social outing for a show. The lawn spans a large area of the Ravinia grounds and is more like a park than a concert venue.

Ravinia has an open BYOB policy where fans are encouraged to bring coolers with as much food and beverage as they would like (this includes alcoholic beverages as well). Fans are also permitted and encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and tables to enjoy the show from the lawn.

Limited Views to the Stage

This is not a good ticket option for someone who wants clear views to the stage. Unlike many other amphitheaters, there are very limited sight lines to the stage from most areas of the lawn. Instead, large video screens project live what is happening on stage.

Those looking to see the show live should look at pavilion seats.

I absolutely love lawn seating! It is so fun to be with friends chilling, eating snacks, and listening to the live music! There are two massive screens on both sides of the stage which allows you to see the performance from the lawn! I would not recommend lawn tickets if you want to see the actual performance from the stage. I went closer to the stage for a few songs that I had to see Fogerty perform, and I had no trouble seeing him! I would recommend bringing lawn chairs or a blanket, unless you don't mind sitting on the grass. Also bring bug spray, lots of bug spray!

The lawn at Ravinia was not exactly what I was expecting. It was a huge, sprawling area completely full of people who had lawn chairs, picnic tables, food and drinks. If you're a fan of a band and actually want to see them perform, I would not recommend the lawn at Ravinia. If you want to hear the ambiance of some good music while hanging out with your friends and family, the lawn might be a good choice. There's a small area behind the seating that you can watch the show from, but you'll mostly see the light and sound people moving around.
