Best Seats For a Concert at Great American Ball Park

The most common seating layout at Great American Ball Park for concerts is an end-stage setup with the stage located near sections Section 101, Section 102 and Section 103. For many concerts there are also slight variations to the layout, which may include General Admission seats, fan pits and B-stages.

On the Field: Sections Field 1, Field 10, Field 11 and Field 12 are Field Seats, which offer some of the closest views of the performers. For many concerts, field sections are added or removed. These performer-specific adjustments may alter the field layout and the views from each field section.

To the Side of the Stage: For close views of the stage with a little bit of elevation, consider seats to the side of the stage in Section 106, Section 107 and Section 110. The view is not head-on like on the field, but many of the seats are closer to the stage, provide better elevation and are actual stadium seats.

Head-on to the Stage: Seats directly across from the stage, like those in Section 1, Section 2, Section 3 and Section 4 provide the most comfortable looks of the performance.

Even upper level sections offer unobstructed sitelines. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to see as much detail from these seats as you would if you sat closer to the stage.

Consider the Following When Buying Concert Tickets

Seats behind the stage are occassionally sold: Unless your main objective is to just get in the building, you'll want to completely avoid anything behind the stage - like those in/near or above sections Section 101, Section 102, Section 103 and Section 142. It's unlikely the performer will turn around to salute you - and you're more likely to be completely blocked out from seeing the show.

If you're on the shorter side (or bringing kids), consider field seats only in the first few rows: The most common complaint amongst field ticketholders is that they can't see the stage because of taller people in front of them. As an alternative, consider side sections near the stage that will still have you close and high enough to see.

Lower level side sections are not created equal: While the side sections closest to the stage are top-notch, side sections farther from the stage may leave you with a cramp in your neck. Sections 113 and 133 are not well-angled towards the stage - leaving you to turn your head for an ideal view. Instead, consider head-on sections in the lower level or even close side seats in the upper level like 509 and 510.

Great American Ball Park Seat Views

Best Seats for Great Views of the Field

For the best views of a Reds game at Great American Ball Park, fans will want to stick close to the infield where most of the top options are located on the lower 100 seating tier, or the secondary Club Level seating tier.

Among our recommendations are the seats just beyond the team dugouts down the first and third base lines. If you prefer sitting closer to the Reds dugout (first base side), look for seats in rows EE and higher of sections 128-131. The seats feel close to the action and have a good viewing angle of the entire playing field. But one of the biggest draws here is the overhead coverage, which can provide some much appreciated relief from the hot summer sun during a day game at GABP, helping to keep you in your seat watching the game.

You can find similar views down the third base side (closer to the visitors dugout) in sections 112-114, however there is far less overhead coverage here so sitting higher up is not as much of an advantage. Opt for seats in rows R through GG for excellent viewing height, and close proximity to the entry concourse entry tunnel located just above section 113. Fans will want to avoid sections 116 and 117 as these are far from the concourse (due to the suites just above), making for very long trips to and from the restrooms and concessions. If you want to avoid the protective netting, you'll want to find seats beyond section 113 on the third base side and section 133 on the first base side.

The aptly named scout seats at GABP offer the best of the best when it comes to views of a ballgame, but also come with a noticeably higher price tag. These seats give you an incredible perspective of the batters box and on deck circles, and also have amazing views of the pitches as they cross the plate. As a premium option, these seats also come with in-seat wait service, allowing you to order and receive food and beverage without having to miss a minute of the game. Just about every seating row is a phenomenal option here, although we recommend not going any higher than row I in sections 124 and 126 due to additional railings off the sides of the seating sections.

Sticking with the behind home plate views, there are also excellent options to be found on the second tier Club level in sections 222-225. You will have straight away views of the entire field from an ideal seating height, and with 6 rows of seating in each section you can really focus on the game while having short trips to and from the concourse.

Also located on the Club level, seats in rows H-M of sections 303-304 have very good views which are right in line with the Reds Dugout. These are further up in the club tier which can be a big benefit on bright summer days thanks to the better shade you will get. July sun in Cincinnati is no joke, so being able to find some relief is a significant benefit which helps keep you in your seat watching the action.

Should you be priced out of many of the lower and club level options when searching for great views, we recommend considering select options on the 400 level down the third base line. Also known as the Mezzanine, these seats extend closer and lower to the field than 400 level sections down the first base line. The views from rows C-H in sections 417-418 are some of the best you can find on the Mezzanine, with great alignment to the heart of the infield. Just be sure to avoid rows A-B where the safety railing at the front of the section can be a distraction.

  • Prime position on the second tier club level and right behind home plate
  • Small seating sections help keep your focus on the field
  • Shorter trips to and from the concourse with all-inclusive food and non-alcoholic drinks

Sections Section 303 and Section 304

  • Good angle to the heart of the infield
  • Excellent viewing height from the club seating tier

    Venue & Seating Questions

    • What is the tall stack seating called at Great American Ball Park?

The tall structures in right center field are the Pepsi Power Stacks, and the seating sections located just below are sections 145 and 146. There are no additional amenities that come with these seats, however there is a common standing area located above the sections for socializing while watching the game.

    • Where are the single lettered rows at Great American Ball Park?

The single lettered rows are always located closer to the front of the seating sections at Great American Ball Park, with the double lettered rows located behind.

    • Is there wheelchair seating available at Great American Ball Park?

Great American Ball Park has many handicap accessible seating options available, with the best options located at the top of most lower level sections (100 level) in the infield. Other good handicap accessible options are also available at the top of the Club level (200 sections) and Lower View Level (400 sections).

For handicap seating, we recommend contacting the Reds Box Office directly to request these seats as they are not often available through any other seller. Fans can reach the Reds Ticket Department at 877-647-REDS.

    • Where are the best Level 1 concert views at Great American Ball Park?

The best place to sit on the lower level is in a place that gives both a good angle toward the stage and is also not too far away from it. Sections 111, 112, 134, and 135 are two sections on each side of the stadium that are in great locations to watch the concert. These sections are the closest to the stage that are angled the right way for a concert. It would be better to sit in these sections than some on a higher level because they are much closer to the stage, but it would be a good idea to sit in a row near the middle of the section on the lower level to get some elevation to see over all of the people on the field.

It is important to avoid seats in the outfield (Sections 140-143 and 102-105) on the lower level because these seats are almost behind the stage and have very poor views.

    • Which seats at GABP are covered in case of rain or foul weather?

The Cheapest Seats are the Best Protected

      GABP Roof
The top rows of 500 level seating are among the only rain-proofed seats at Great American BallPark

There are not many covered seats at Great American Ballpark, but some of the most well protected ones will be located at the very top of the 500 level as these seats are underneath a roof which sits atop the stadium. The seats with good coverage in the 500 level will be found in rows R-V in sections 520-537, and rows N-R in sections 509-519.

Lower Level and Club Seat Options

The last 3 rows of sections 127-134 (along the first base side) will also have decent coverage from the overhanging seating deck above, and you may also want to consider the
Club Seating options which will give you access to a private club lounge where you can get out of the weather.

Each section has a varying amount of rows and seats. Find a section to see row and/or seat numbers.
