Student seating can be found in sections 103, 104, and 111-113 at Welsh Ryan Arena.
Sections 208-210 and 218-220 are located in the upper level of the stadium along the sidelines and typically offer the cheapest tickets in the entire stadium. Each section spans 11-15 rows, with the best vantage point closest to the front of the section in row 1. Seats in row 8 are closest to the entry tunnels that lead directly to the concourse and various amenities.
The upper deck corner sections arguably offer the best view of the court in the entire stadium. Sections 201, 207, 211, and 217 each provide an unobstructed view of the court in addition to a direct view of the video screen hanging above the court. Sections 201 and 217 sit directly facing the team benches, offering a great view of the teams' reactions to exciting moments. Section 211 may be lacking in energy due to the fact that it is just a single row positioned in front of the sports media reporters.
Sections 202-206 and 212-216 are located behind the baskets in the upper deck. Since the renovations, there are some of the most underrated sections in the entire stadium. Not only are these sections cheaper than most, they also offer an unobstructed view of the entire court. The sections are steep, making it feel like you are looking down on the action when the teams are on your side of the court. Each section is only 5 rows total, with 12 seats in each row; perfect for intimate group outings and family parties.
Lower level seating at Welsh-Ryan Arena includes sections 101, 107-109, 115, and The Wilson Club. Sections 107-109 are located on the bench side of the stadium with section 107 residing behind the Wildcat's bench. All seats are cushioned and include chair-back.
Many would argue that these sections are the best seats for a Northwestern Basketball Game as each section offers an unobstructed view of the court. However, with how small and intimate of a venue this is, look to other sections for a comparable view with a cheaper price.
Lower level corner seating is made up of sections 102, 106, 110, and 114. These sections offer an excellent unobstructed view of the entire court at a price generally cheaper than those at center court. Spanning only 13 rows, each section begins with row 6 and works back to row 18. Due to the triangular nature of the sections, the front couple of rows include only 2-6 seats, perfect for families or small groups looking to enjoy a personal row. Section 106 and 110 are popular as they are right above the home and away team tunnels respectively. Additionally, if you enjoy singing and dancing to the fight song, section 114 is perfect for you as it borders the student pep-band located in section 113.
Lower level baseline seats are behind the basket and include sections 103-105 and 111-113. Sections 111-113 are home to the Northwestern Wildcat's Student Section and located adjacent to the visiting bench in section 109. With the student pep-band residing in section 113, live in house DJ stationed at the top of section 112, and packed in students throughout, sections 111-113 are sure to offer the highest degree of energy in the entire stadium.
Sections 103 & 104 are open to additional student seating if sections 111-113 are full or you simply don't want to stand for the duration of the game. For optimal view of the action, we suggest avoiding sections 104 & 112 as the basket itself can obstruct the view from these sections. Section 105 is adjacent to the Wildcats bench. None of the seats in these sections have a chair-back.
