Section 116 Reviews

Not bad, but not fantastic

May 2014

Section 116, Row 16, Seat 14

These are some of the best seats in the stadium. Right behind homeplate, good elevation and Row 16 is only the 4th row up above the premium club seats. If you don't have a dude with a giant melon in front of you like I did, your view is gonna be pretty good. The net behind homeplate will bother some because it doesn't provide a "pure" view, but many probably won't notice. I expected a lot more out of these seats, considering the price tag. The nearest bathroom was more than 6 sections away -- are you kidding me!?!? That was just unbelievable. I can't imagine what it's like during a Raiders game at halftime when every tailgater rushes to the few and far between bathrooms. Fortunately, there are very few people at the A's game and going between innings resulted in no wait. Besides for the long walk to the bathrooms -- and the long walk up the stairs just to get to the concourse -- looking left or right and high up to see the world's smallest screen is awful. The scoreboard lights are faded, so you can't tell if someone's hitting .858 or .353. And I guarantee you that your local sports bar features a larger television than the screens at the Coliseum. The best thing about the seats was the cheesesteak. It is really fantastic, and a good size sandwich. I highly recommend grabbing one. Also, the cinnamon twists from the pizza stand are ten times better than the churro and you get so much that I couldn't even finish all of them. Finally, the beer options are plentiful and pretty solid nearby. These are probably among the best seats in the stadium, so I don't know what else I'd recommend. But just don't expect a ton if you sit here.

  • Field Level

    -

The closest non-premium seating area for A's games are Field Level seats. On the RingCentral Coliseum seating chart, these are sections 103-130. Each Field Level section contains up to 38 rows with row 1 closest to the field. These sections are separated into an upper and lower portion with rows 1-20 in the lower area. These closer seats are occasionally labeled MVP Infield and MVP Prime. Rows 30 and above are underneath the overhang. On a sunny day, seats in these rows behind home plate are the best tickets for shade at an A's game. Infield Seats at Field Level  Due to the fact that seating flares out so widely at the Coliseum, sections 116-118 are the only Field Level seats that make you feel like you are on top of the action. It also comes as no surprise that these are typically among the most expensive seats at an A's game. Sections 119-122 are above the A's dugout, while 112-115 are above the visitor's dugout. Row 5 is the first row behind each dugout. Field Level Seats Away From Home Plate  The Coliseum is one of the few places where the farther down the line you go, the better the seats get. They are closer to the field and the bowl shape gives them an impressive angle towards home plate. Sections 106-108 and 126-128 would typically be havens for foul balls -- but this is not your typical stadium. You can still catch foul balls there, they're not as plentiful as you might expect. Target sections 126-129 for an up-close view of the A's bullpen and consider sections 105-108 for a look at the visitors when they warm up.

  • Home Plate Theater Boxes

    -

The Home Plate Theater Boxes at RingCentral Coliseum are located in the back of sections 116-118. These seats give a great view from behind home plate on the lower bowl. Each box contains either four or six seats. Fans lucky enough to be sitting here will have enjoy a complimentary all-you-can-eat experience. Non-alcoholic drinks are bottomless and complimentary drink tickets for alcoholic beverages will be provided for each ticketholder. Food and drink can be brought directly to your box with from an in-seat service representative so you don't have to miss a pitch.  The Theater Boxes are fully covered and have an ideal elevated view from behind home plate.
