RYS Expert Reviews

200 Level

(2026 Review) - Middle Tier: The 200 Level at Madison Square Garden, wrapping the arena with both side and end sections.  Range of Price Points: Upper rows are among the cheapest tickets for Knicks and Rangers games, while lower side rows rank among the best views in the building.  Best Views Tip: In side sections, sit in the first six rows — the entrance tunnel is at row 7, so these rows give the best sightlines and easiest access.  Barstool Seats: The last row in many sections is labeled BS25 and features barstool seating.  Concert Notes: For end-stage shows, sections 212 and 223 sit closest to the stage, while sections 201–207 offer a head-on view.  Who Should Sit Here  The 200 Level at Madison Square Garden suits a wide range of fans, from budget-minded ticket buyers up top to those chasing a near-premium view in the front side rows. If you want a strong sightline without lower-bowl pricing, the first six rows of a side section are the sweet spot. Fans who prioritize quick, easy access over a sideline angle will appreciate the compact end sections.  200 Level Seating Details  The 200 Level splits into side sections and end sections. Side sections hold up to 25 rows, with row 1 at the front and the entrance tunnel at row 7. End sections are much smaller — just 3–6 rows each — which keeps them intimate and makes getting to and from your seat simple. Barstool rows (labeled BS) sit at the back of most sections.  Views from the 200 Level  The front rows of the side sections deliver phenomenal, club-like views for both basketball and hockey. Views get more distant as you climb toward the upper rows. End sections trade the prime sideline angle for convenience and intimacy, which many fans prefer over a higher-row sideline seat. Every section has a television monitor set up near the ground at the front, so guests in row 1 can keep an eye on replays and stats.  Good to Know  For hockey, the Rangers shoot twice toward sections 215–220 — worth targeting if you want the action heading your way. Note that Madison Square Garden's row 7 marks the entrance tunnel in side sections, so aim for rows 1–6 when you want the cleanest sightline.

Seating Notes

  • The Rangers shoot twice towards this end of the ice

Front Row Was Not My Favorite — Although the seats feel close, they are well behind the front portion of the stage and it was hard to see the front of the performers.

The glass railing definitely gets in your field of vision when trying to watch the performance, making it more difficult to get really involved into the show. Had I been a few rows up (maybe Row 3 through 6), the glass might not have been an issue and I would have enjoyed the concert more.

Directly in line with the stage — This seat was all the way to the left in the section, so right next to 213.

This was one of the last rows in the section, and they were pretty far up and far from the stage. But the view wasn't too bad. As budget seats for an expensive show, these are way better than sitting high up at the end of the arena.

Horrible - don't bother — I could have stayed home and played my music loudly instead of traipsing into NYC for the show. No view of the stage, and what we could see was blocked by hanging speakers. So disappointing. We left early. Even the tv they have set up in the section was grainy, adding to the frustration.

Surprisingly Empty — Couldn't believe there weren't more people sitting on this section. Can't see the screen or the front of the performance, but neither can the full section next to this one.

Clear view of the side of the stage without any obstructions.

Great for the price but sucks that there was an obstructions in the screen — You're able to see everything down below but there is an obstruction when you look at the screen up top.
