Many have credited the Chicago Blackhawks as being the saviors of the NHL in the 2012-2013 season. The Hawks impressive 24 game point streak to start the season shattered the previous record of 16 games held by the 2006-2007 Anaheim Ducks, and sparked the interest of hockey fans world wide. Even LeBron James was getting into it, sending congratulatory tweets to Patrick Kane and the team. The excitement of knowing you just watched history be made helped make it easier to get past the 4 months spent waiting for owners and players to emerge from an entrenched labor dispute, and rekindled a love for hockey that was almost lost with the threat of a second cancelled season in a nine year period.

But the Blackhawks would not falter after their record breaking start, and continued their strong play during the drastically condensed regular season. The Hawks currently lead the NHL with 70 points, and with the Presidents Trophy in sight (awarded to the team with the most regular season points), the Blackhawks have 6 games left to clinch the top spot, and only half of those will be at home in the United Center. So with just 3 regular season games left on home ice, Hawks fans are running short on chances to see their team before ticket prices sky rocket for the playoffs. As of today, tickets for the first round of the playoffs (Western Conference Quarterfinals) are already 30% higher than the average ticket price from the remaining 3 regular season games.

Blackhawks Ticket Price Comparison

Great tickets are still available for the remaining regular season home games, many of which are sure to be exciting matchups as the Hawks look to clinch home ice in the post season. We highly recommend considering these last few affordable opportunities while they're still available, and be able to say you saw the team that re-wrote NHL history.

Predators at Blackhawks

  • When: Friday, April 19th, 2013
  • How Much: Starting at $84, Average Price $240

The Predators have dealt the Blackhawks some tough contests this season, mostly due to the phenomenal play of goaltender Pekka Rinne. The Predators are unlikely to remain in the playoff hunt (currently 9 points behind the 8th place Red Wings), but will be hungry to knock off a division rival and avoid a season sweep. The Hawks will also be honoring Pat Foley in recognition of 30 years in the broadcast booth, and the first 10,000 fans will also receive a Tommy Hawk Cuddle-Up Pet. The cheapest of the regular season games remaining, this Friday night game full of extras and a division rival will definitely be one of the best remaining matchups to attend at the United Center.

Coyotes at Blackhawks

  • When: Saturday, April 20th, 2013
  • How Much: Starting at $101, Average Price $341

The Coyotes currently stand just 4 points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western conference, and will undoubtedly be in desperation mode for every possible point when they visit the United Center on April 20th. Playoff implications and a Saturday night puck drop make this an intriguing option for fans to consider, but are also causing these tickets are to be some of the highest priced options remaining. The Coyotes are a solid team with good goaltending, but for our money, we recommend opting for either the Friday night Predator game with the Pat Foley tribute, or the last regular season against the Flames a week later, both of which will be lighter on the bank account.

Flames at Blackhawks

  • When: Friday, April 26th, 2013
  • How Much: Starting at $100, Average Price $265

In the final home game of the season, the Blackhawks will be hosting the lowly Calgary Flames, who currently have the 2nd fewest points in the entire Western Conference. But with the possibility of the Blackhawks capturing the President's Trophy (awarded to the NHL team with the most regular season points), and consequently securing home ice advantage throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs, this Friday night matchup should be full of energy and anticipation. Being the last regular season home game at the United Center, we expected this to be the most expensive option left, and were shocked to see how affordable the tickets were compared to the April 20th matchup against the Coyotes. As such, we are strongly recommending this game for fans looking to catch the Blackhawks one last time before the playoffs.
