Events We Can't Wait to See in 2023

As the new year gets under way, the RateYourSeats.com team is already looking forward to some of the most anticipated sporting and music events of the year! Let's take a look at some of the events fans should be getting excited about in 2023!

Baseball

From March 8-21, twenty national baseball teams from around the world will compete in the World Baseball Classic for the chance to earn the "World Champion" title. This event is only scheduled to happen every four years, although the 2021 contest was pushed all the way back to 2023, so this tournament feels like the Olympics for baseball fans.

Speaking of baseball, this season is the first for the MLB's new schedule. Teams will still play 162 games in the regular season, but now the schedule will include games against each of the other 29 teams. This new style allows fans to see new matchups with their favorite team that they may have rarely gotten to see before, if ever.

College Football

The National Championship game is set to take place on January 9 at SoFi Stadium as TCU goes up against Georgia. The Bulldogs are the favorites in this matchup and are looking to become the first back-to-back National Champion in nearly a decade.

The 2023-24 college football season that begins later this fall will also be an exciting one to watch, as it marks the final season before the NCAA moves to their expanded playoff system in 2024-25.

Golf

The golf schedule has the same big names on it as it typically does, like the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the British Open, however, the one we're most excited to see is The Masters. Anticipation for this event might be at an all-time high after the PGA announced that LIV golfers are allowed to participate as long as they meet certain qualification criteria. Will a PGA faithful win the event, or will it be disrupted by a LIV player? Only time will tell!

Racing

In recent years, the popularity of F1 in the United States has grown tremendously. In 2023, F1 will make three stops in the U.S. during its season, which feels almost unprecedented. The races include the Miami Grand Prix on May 7, the US Grand Prix on October 22, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 18.

Last year, Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, saw attendance rise beyond 400,000 people for the weekend. This year, they're pushing to pass the half-a-million mark when the series stops by in October.

Concerts

2023 is shaping up to be a huge year for new tours. Taylor Swift nearly broke the internet when she announced 'The Eras Tour.' Taylor isn't the only big name hitting the road this year, though. The recently re-united Blink-182 will be on a world-wide tour, Ed Sheeran will begin touring across the U.S. starting in May, Metallica announced a massive tour that spans the globe for the next two years, and Morgan Wallen will begin his 'One Night At a Time World Tour' in March.

Two big names to keep an eye on in 2023 are Rihanna and Beyonce. Rihanna is slated to perform in the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl, which has led to speculation that a tour will be announced soon after that.

Beyonce fans are anxiously awaiting tour information after the superstar released 'Renaissance' back in 2022.

Other Major Events

Some other noteworthy events to look forward to this year:

- Super Bowl LVII will be held at State Farm Stadium on February 12.

- The Daytona 500, NASCAR's premier race, will take place on February 19.

- The MLB season is scheduled to start on March 30.

- NBA Playoffs begin on April 15, with the Finals expected to start in June.

- NHL regular season ends on April 13, with Stanley Cup Playoffs beginning shortly after that.

This year is packed full of amazing events, and we can't wait to see how they all unfold!
